The Tripp Lite OMNISMART550MX Line-Interactive UPS provides reliable battery backup and AC power protection. It guards against blackouts, brownouts, overvoltages, surges and line noise that can damage valuable electronics or destroy data.
The 120V battery backup is ideal protection for your home office, media center or other gear. This includes computers, routers, printers, HDTVs, Blu-ray players, game consoles, ATMs, security systems and digital signage equipment.
Backup support allows you to work through short power failures and gives you enough time to safely save files and shut down your system. Backup time varies, but internal battery should keep a half load (230W) powered as long as 10 minutes and a full load (460W) up to 3.6 minutes.
12 NEMA 5-15R Outlets Protect Your Connected Components
Six 5-15R outlets provide battery backup, surge protection and voltage regulation for your computer, monitor and other crucial components. The other six provide surge suppression only for printers, speakers and other non-essential equipment during a blackout. In addition, RJ45 jacks protect a telephone/DSL dial-up or 10BaseT Ethernet connection.
A double-boost, single-cut AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation) circuit, designed for the LATAM region, protects your equipment from hardware damage, data loss and performance problems caused by brownouts and over voltages. Slight under-voltages as low as 93V are boosted by 13%. More severe brownouts as low as 78V are increased by 35%.
A voltage cut of 16% reduces UPS output during overvoltage conditions as high as 152V. And all the all while, keeping the battery fully charged and ready to take over in case of power failure. Plus, a 600-joule surge suppression rating protects connected components from the harmful effects of power surges.

Various electromagnetic and radio sources found in virtually every home and business can disrupt the AC line. Known as EMI (electromagnetic interference) and RFI (radio frequency interference), this line noise is a common cause of performance problems. It can lead to incremental hardware damage, data corruption and audio/video transmission problems. The OMNISMART550MX has technology that filters out line noise so that it won’t affect your equipment.
