To secure a site in minutes, just add your Meraki MX64 to the dashboard. Then, enable intrusion prevention. Finally, select the desired threat protection level. That’s all there is to it!
Tell me about Meraki’s licensing. What is this, and why do I need it?
All current Cisco Meraki products require valid licensing to operate. This is on a “per device, per year” basis. The Cisco Meraki MX64 has two licenses. They are Enterprise and Advanced Security. These licenses are available in 1, 3, and 5 year options. They can be bought through your authorized Meraki partner.
Remember that without this licensing, your Meraki MX64 Firewall will cease to function. 30 days prior to your license’s expiration date, the administrators on your account will be notified. Then, another e-mail will be sent 3 days prior to expiration. An account expiration banner will also be displayed in the Meraki dashboard at this time.
But, you can reactivate your account at any point in the future. To do this (after it expires), just add the necessary number of valid licenses.
