Description
Like all of Meraki’s firewall appliances, the Meraki MX67 cloud-managed firewall is super easy to learn and operate. Moreover, it’s 100% cloud-managed. And, this is where the MX series truly shines. You can remotely deploy MX firewalls in minutes, and most actions in the cloud interface are point and click. And, security settings are simple to synchronize across thousands of sites.
Under the hood of the MX67
The Meraki MX67 pushes 450Mbps of data. And, it is perfectly suitable for up to 50 users. Its Auto VPN technology securely connects branches in 3 clicks through an intuitive, web-based dashboard. In addition, it can support up to 50 connections at once. To secure a site in minutes, simply add your Meraki appliance to the dashboard. Then, enable intrusion prevention. Finally, just select the threat protection level you desire.
Tell me about Meraki’s licensing. What is this, and why does my MX67 need it?
Remember, the MX67, and all current Cisco Meraki products, requires valid licensing to operate. Your MX67 is no different. This is done on a “per device, per year” basis. The MX series has two licenses: Enterprise and Advanced Security. Licenses are available in 1, 3, and 5 year options. They can be bought through your authorized Meraki partner.
What is Meraki Enterprise License?
First, the basic Enterprise License: With this you’re getting an excellent stateful inspection firewall with VPN capabilities for your Meraki MX67 cloud-managed firewall. This will do a good job of protecting your business from direct intrusion.
What is Meraki Advanced Security License?
Basically, the Advanced Security License offers a lot more protection. It is an all-around security package that can protect you from nearly any attack. For example, you get Intrusion Detection / Prevention, Anti-Virus and Anti-Phishing. In addition, there’s Content and Web-Search Filtering, and Advanced Malware Protection.
Don’t forget…
Finally, it is important to remember that without this licensing, your Meraki MX67 will cease to function. 30 days prior to your license’s expiration date, the administrators on your account will be notified. Then, another e-mail will be sent 3 days prior to account expiration. Finally, an account expiration banner will also be displayed in the Meraki dashboard during this time.
However, you can reactivate your account at any point in the future after it expires by adding the necessary number of valid licenses.
